Importance of Learning and Understanding Leadership Styles and Traits

Please note that each and every assignment has its own word limit.

Importance of Leadership styles and Traits

It is important to learn and understand leadership styles for public heaths future professionals because it is good to know what plans. Programs and directions a leader will implement to get individuals engaged. And inspired to carry out assignments. For instance, I would want to know a person’s leadership style. And traits before working with or for them because if it is anything of a Theory X, leadership style,

this would not be beneficial or a good work environment for me as working under “command and control” or any sort of micromanaging, is absolutely not acceptable for any environment that I would want to be a part of. Furthermore, leadership traits are as equally important because individuals need to know if they are working with or for someone who has great qualities such as technical skills, interpersonal skills, emotional balance, and task-oriented to effectively run an organization or team (Rowitz, 2014).

Challenges and skills that can help public health systems

With the rise of public health issues, public health agencies need more resources to provide help across sectors. Due to the lack of resources, public health agencies face many challenges from community groups and other organizations that look for public health leaders for assistance. Many communities and organizations look for public health leaders to bridge gaps between healthcare, disease, and other chronic illnesses to health as well as finding solutions that can help strengthen and improve public health communities. Skills that can help navigate and lead in public health systems are through proper assessment of issues and effective training of public health leaders to ensure policy development where public health leaders can advocate and have input in the decision-making process (Rowitz, 2014).
