2 separate case analysis 5-7 PAGES PER ANALYSIS

1ST Case Analysis

1. This assignment involves a “self-analysis” of your personality* as it relates to the material we covered in the first section of the course. In particular, your task is to describe and explain yourself according to the trait and situational concepts discussed in Chapter 4.

First, you should provide a summary description of your personality. Then, choose some of the the concepts covered that seem to best apply to you. Describe what these concepts and approaches have to say about your own “personality.” In other words, answer the question “Who am I?” from these trait and situational perspectives.

Examples must be provided throughout your Case Analysis. The number of examples of behavior provided is not as important as their relatedness to the topic, but the student needs to keep in mind the page requirement, despite the quantity of examples. All examples must be related to the questions that are presented in the Case. Points will be taken off for unrelated examples ranging from 2 to 10 points.

A student may agree or disagree with the material, but must still relate examples to the material and explain their relevance. The material used to explain the examples of behavior must be put in the student’s own words. The application of the materials to the behavioral example(s) should definitely outweigh the explanation of the theory or perspective. In other words, don’t reiterate the theory to me; I’m much more interested in the application of the theory. This indicates comprehension of the material we are studying. A range from 1-20 points could be deducted from the total if there is insufficient application.

This assignment must be typed and double-spaced (preferably in Word, .txt, or .rtf format), with the number of pages ranging from 5 (minimum) to 7 (maximum).

2nd Case Analysis

The Nature and Nurture of Personality & Environmental Effects

“Who am I?”

This assignment involves a “self-analysis” as it relates to the material we covered in this section of the course. In particular, how do the theories and research in Chapter 9 apply to your own* personality? Answer this question by addressing each of the following:

(1) What evidence can you cite in your own personality that is consistent with the Evolutionary Psychology approach? That is, how do some of the major theories and research we talked about apply to your own personal case? Once again, be sure to cite relevant constructs.

(2) What evidence can you cite that illustrates the effects of common (shared) and unique (non-shared) environmental effects on your own personality? In your opinion, what aspects of the environment had (and have) the greatest impact on you? Why?Instructions

In answering these questions, be sure to provide a description of your own personality and apply the theories and research to your “personality.” Your paper should be no shorter than 5 pages and PLEASE no longer than 7 pages. It should be typed and double-spaced (preferably in Word format).
