Professional Development Series Evaluation Participant Learning Worksheet
Description
The purpose of educational evaluation is to assess learning, to provide feedback to participants, and to provide data that educators can use to improve instruction. Evaluation is only as reliable as the data collection methods you use to conduct it. Create an evaluation blueprint that reveals how you will measure the impact of your professional development series in relation to your session objectives.
If you have been working on a team, you may continue to work with that team. If on a team, don’t just divide the work; work together on all parts. Otherwise, you will finish the course only partially skilled and informed. Submit one document per team with all names on it.
Purpose
To develop the following National Commission for Health Education Credentialing (NCHEC) 2020 areas of responsibility and competency:
- Area IV. Evaluation and Research
To develop the following SOPHE 2019 Health Education Teacher Preparation Standards:
- Standard 5: Evaluation
Procedures
Create an assessment blueprint that reveals how you will measure participants’ achievement of the learning objectives. Depending on whether the objective is low-level (knowledge, comprehension), mid-level (application), or high-level (analysis, evaluation, creation), the complexity of your assessment will vary. Use this document for ideas. If the objectives relate to valuing or awareness, use this website.
Copy the template below. The examples reveal what work is expected. Your data collection method descriptions should reveal a direct connection to the learning objective being measured, be written in complete sentences, and consist of an observable task.
