Fundraising and Fund Development in Human Services

I hope everyone is safe and well.

Our class is scheduled to begin on Monday, July 6, 2020. In preparation for this course, you will need to identify a nonprofit organization to work with. The nonprofit you choose will be the focus of and lens through which you prepare your assignments, some discussion board posts as well as your final fund development project.

The nonprofit you select must meet a few criteria AND be pre-approved by me. That criteria includes: (a) In good standing with the IRS; (b) they must have a profile on Candid/GuideStar; (c) they must have financial statements and (d) operate under the governance of a board. Additionally, please do not select a nonprofit you currently work for (or have worked for within the past six months).

While researching nonprofits, please identify three (3). Rank them (1st choice, 2nd choice, and 3rd choice). This will be helpful in the rare event two students select the same nonprofit or (as has happened in the past), the selected nonprofit is non-responsive or becomes unavailable to support the student. Please email me your selections PRIOR TO the start of the course. Advance approval is required.
