Old material. Truth tables.

  1. Take the two invalid argument forms in chapter 6 (listed on pp. 227-228) and use truth tables to show that they are invalid.
  2. Take two valid argument forms (called rules of inference) from chapter 7 (listed on p. 247) and use truth tables to show that they are valid.

2. New material. Natural Deduction. Read chapter 7, from 7.1 to 7.4.

  1. Write out the rules of inference on p. 247.
  2. Do problems 46-48 on p. 254 (using the rules on p. 247)
