This assignment explores stand-your-ground laws. Using the CSU Online Library and other scholarly resources, research the history of this type of law, including legalities, your state law (if your current state law contains stand-your-ground laws), pros, cons, and your opinions of this law. If your state does not have a stand-your-ground law, please research a state that currently has this type of law, and use its information for this assignment.

Please divide your paper topics as indicated below, and use relevant headings for each section:

  • Introduction
  • History of Stand-Your-Ground-Laws (your state or another one you researched)
  • Legality or Legal Principles? Discuss which category of criminal defenses this type of law falls under.
  • Summary of Stand-Your-Ground Laws (for your state or the state you researched)
  • Pros and Cons of Stand-Your-Ground Laws
  • Finally, based upon what you have read, give your opinion on stand-your-ground-laws, and support your argument.

Your assignment must be at least three pages in length, not counting the title and reference pages. It should present an insightful and thorough analysis with strong arguments and evidence.

While you may use your textbook to complete this assignment, you are required to use at least two other reputable outside resources.
