2 DQ 2

Strategic planning involves looking into the future, outlining goals for the organization, and developing a process of how to achieve them. (Whitney, 2018). The purpose of creating a strategic plan in health care requires assessing the current operations, the resources available including the existing infrastructure through a SWOT analysis. (Strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats).Through the analysis, the management can look at the day-to-day operations and how to improve them in alignment with the vision and mission of the organization. Other tools include objectives and key results and balanced score card. Strategic planning gives direction, increases efficiency, and allows organizations to be proactive rather than reactive.

Future planning

Future planning in the organization can be affected by budgeting, organization culture, goals, leadership, and ineffective communication.
