CWV 101 Grand Canyon University Mark 8 29 Worksheet

In Mark 8:29, Jesus discussed with his disciples what people were saying about him. Jesus asked his disciples directly, “But who do you say that I am?” In this assignment, you will have the opportunity to demonstrate your understanding of who Christians claim Jesus is and to share your own belief about who Jesus is.

Follow the directions in the “Mark 8:29 Worksheet.”

Here are some suggestions for the assignment. Try to read the passages in a translation that you can understand. I often recommend the New International Version (NIV) or New Living Translation (NLT) for those who are not used to reading the Bible. You can find both of these (and many other translations) at biblegateway.com. The NIV is a good overall translation. The NLT is geared for a lower reading level, but it can give a good sense of the overall meaning. Find passages that make sense to you. You do not need to try to unpack a passage that is the most difficult for you to understand. Read the passage through a few times and try to get the main idea being expressed. If you do not understand a passage or are unsure, feel free to ask me about it. The assignment asks for sources, but I do not require sources. If you use a source, that is fine, and if you do, you want to include the reference the References page. But all you you are required to do is is describe what the Bible passages say. For question 3, just provide some thoughts about what you think about who Jesus is. There is no “right” answer here. Just describe your current thinking. If you are unsure about some things, that is fine. Go ahead and describe what you are not sure about
