Select one of the more common statistical tests used in nursing research. State which statistic you selected. What level of measurement is required for using your selected statistical test? Provide an example of how your selected statistical test could be used in a nursing research study.

The Chi-Square Test is one of the most commonly used statistical tests.  This test is an appropriate choice to use when there are two distinct answer categories for a particular question.  For example a yes or no question (Kossovsky, 2021).  The test is a, “non-parametric, extremely fast, and applicable to bias-corrected distance correlation with a strong defining parameter” (Shen et al., 2021).   For my PICOT question, Evaluation on implementing health promotion in the management of vitamin D deficiency in primary clinics.  The chi-Square is an appropriate test to answer this question.  Does nursing intervention make a difference?  However, to further the power of this study a step further might be useful, for this application we might take Chi-Squared a step further for a distance Correlation Chi-Squared test (Chen, 2021).  Another test that might be applicable is the Omnibus Test.  In this test we are given the use of more than one degree of freedom (Sharpe, 2015). With this test we are able to do a quick easy analysis with additional categories.  An example is does nursing eduction improve supplementation of vitamin D intake, when intake is defined into three groups.  Group one no supplementations between control and study arms.  Group two, limited supplementation, and group three appropriate supplementation verses no supplementation.
